I.  Announcements:

 

1. Your vocabulary words for our last class meeting are: "VIRUS - YAHOO" (p.143).

2. Today is the last day we'll meet in class.  Eamil me when you finish your final project by next week.

II.  Homework:

(Your Final Project is due, through email, before Thursday, May 17.  Late projects will not be accepted.  Remember, if you don't do the final project correctly, you will not pass this class.  Therefore, do your project early so you have time to make corrections if you need to.)

 

Of course, your homework is to finish your homepages before next Thursday and then email me your Geocities URL.

 

By the way, if you want to make changes to your homepage, follow these directions:

-1. Go to www.geocities.com
-2. Click on "Yahoo PageBuilder"

-3. You may need to sign in)

-4. Click on "Launch PageBuilder"

-5. Wait for the little house to build itself

-6. You may need to click on "Yes" if it asks you to install PageBuilder)

-7. Wait for the program to load

-8. Then your homepage will open up

-9. Now you can edit your page by clicking inside the page or by clicking on the little buttons on top.

 

REQUIREMENTS for your homepage:

     * You must include your Self-Introduction Paragraph with no spelling or grammar mistakes in it.  It must have your name in it, too.

     * You must have at least one graphic (a photo or a clip art).

     * You must include two hyperlinks.   They can be to any Websites you like, but not to Yahoo.  You need to replace those with your own.

Last Homework:

     * You must include two hyperlinks to any outside Websites that you like (but not Yahoo's).

 

1. Fix any mistakes in the paragraph about yourself.  Be sure to INCLUDE YOUR NAME in the start of the paragraph and spell check it again.

 

2. (For those of you whose Geocities URL addresses didn't work, you will have to fix that or you won't be able to continue...)

 

3. Go to your new Geocities Web address.

          - You should see:    "XXXX's Home Page / I haven't started building my site yet..."

                       (If your Geocities address doesn't work, you'll see:   "Whoops!   We can't find your page!"  Therefore, you need to fix the situation.)

          - Next, click on "Yahoo! PageWizards."

          - Then click on a style of homepage that you like.  Be sure to look down to all the styles before you decide.

          - Last, follow all directions carefully to build your homepage.  If you don't finish, save it and you can continue next week.

 

4. When you finish your homepage, you will send me an email (before May 17) to give me your Geocities URL address and tell me you are done.  If you finish early, you are STILL REQUIRED TO COME TO CLASS NEXT WEEK (May 10) to help other students.
